Here is a brief description of the lush Gambia.
The Gambia is one of the African continent's smallest countries with a coastal stretch to the west of approx. 80 km with beautiful white sandy beaches directly to the Atlantic Ocean and with the river "The Gambia" which winds like a snake deep into the Gambia for approx. 480 km.
Gambia's borders are only met by one country Senegal, the 2 countries are referred to as "The Mouth and the Tongue"
The population today is approx. 2 million.

Muslim approx. 96%.
Christian approx. 3.8%.
Other faiths 0.2%.
The Gambia was formerly a British colony and it was at that time that the official language became English. Most Gambians today understand and speak English, which makes it easier for you as tourists.
The country has great contrasts and a culture far different from Europe. It can be a big mouthful as a first-time visitor. Gambians are enormously hospitable, friendly, diverse and proud people who have big smiles and hearts. They will do their best for your stay in the country to make you happy and safe.
Their traditions, culture and history and not least animal life are like a huge book that you must open, explore and experience with your own eyes.
